The Diocese of Des Moines

Boldly Sent

A Celebration By, Of, and For Catholic Youth

The purpose of this day is to give our Diocesan youth an opportunity to gather around their Bishop for a day of celebration of and growth in their faith.

By coming together from all ends of the Diocese for a large-scale day of celebration, learning, and worship, the Diocesan Youth Council hopes through this day to help their fellow teens to Boldly stand and rely on their faith, so that they may continue to live out Jesus’ command to be Sent to all the ends of the earth, courageously proclaiming His Gospel.

But a new name needs a new look.

Based on the event title “Boldly Sent”, (inspired by Matthew 28:16-20), and this year’s theme of “Made in God’s Image”, we are asking the youth of our Diocese to put their artistic talents to use in three capacities:

  1. A logo for the event this year and going forward (to be used at every Boldly Sent rally , regardless of what the event’s theme that year is, until a new design is deemed necessary)
  2. A logo for this year’s event (“Made in God’s Image”--this can incorporate the main logo or be a separate one)
  3. A t-shirt design (front and back, front only, or back only)

Entries need to be submitted by Easter (April 1st), and need to be submitted as a .JPG file, via email to Justin White, Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, at  Youth may submit up to three (3) entries for consideration.

The winner of the Boldly Sent Logo & T-Shirt Design Contest will receive free entry to the Boldly Sent celebration in October 2018, an interview and article in the Catholic Mirror about their design, and their entire parish delegation to Boldly Sent will be treated to a private lunch with our 2018 keynote speaker, Katie Prejean-McGrady.
