(COUNCIL BLUFFS AREA) Corpus Christi marriage enrichment event
Join us as we celebrate the Year of Marriage and Family with national speakers and authors John and Teri Bosio. The Bosios will be presenting a keynote talk “Our Marriage is Our Treasure” on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Family site. A wine and cheese reception will follow with the Bosios. This event is free and childcare is available. To register for childcare contact Adam Storey. Is anyone in your family divorced? Invite them to “The Catholic’s Divorce Survival Guide” 12-week group which begins this Monday, Oct. 5, at St. Augustin Church in Des Moines. Group meets Monday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. Cost of $30 per person. Find comfort and counsel consistent with Catholic teachings. For more information call Deacon Tony Valdez at 515-979-2301.
Beginning Experience dance
Celebrate “Dancing through the Decades” at St. Augustin Church from 6:30-10:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 in the upper level of the church. Free refreshments. Cost is $5/person. Beginning Experience, a faith-based peer ministry whose primary goal is to provide caring and personalized support to those who have been divorced, separated, or widowed on their journey of healing through the loss of a spouse. Des Moines Diocesan Council of Catholic Women is very excited to offer a spiritual opportunity for all Catholic women in our diocese. Our Fall Retreat will be Oct. 17 at St. Augustin Parish Hall in Des Moines from 8:30-3 p.m. Kathy Reardon, a well-known and gifted spiritual director, will be our facilitator. Her theme is Manifesting Love: Becoming Living Prayer. Cost is $15 ($20 at the door) which includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
