Summary

Shelter Staff (part-time)
Summary
Catholic Charities has two part-time opportunities to oversee the proper functioning and operation of the St. Joseph Emergency Family Shelter, including responsibility for receiving guests and performing housekeeping and a variety of other duties detailed in the job description. Required availability: 7 – 21 hours per week working M-F 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. along with Saturday and/or Sunday availability. May include one overnight shift per week from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Volunteer/Public Relations Specialist
Summary
Develops and implements volunteer programs to meet the ongoing needs of the Domestic Violence Shelter and Sexual Abuse Program. Works directly with Program Manager, Phoenix House staff, local parishes, community individuals and organizations to increase resource capacity and coordination of agency services through volunteers. Assists with agency public relations efforts in collaboration with Catholic Charities Communications and Events Director in the Des Moines office, which includes the development and implementation of a strategic public relations plan and distribution of agency public relations material (e.g. presentations, newsletters, press releases, donor communications and other material) Coordinates fundraising events to increase financial and in kind donations. Coordinates acceptance, donor recognition and organization of all donations received. Works in collaboration with all Phoenix House staff to offer direct service programming as needed.
