Dowling Catholic High School named grand prize winner for Innovations in Catholic Education — 

The Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Des Moines is pleased to announce that Dowling Catholic High School has been named as a grand prize winner in the area of Catholic Identity by Today’s Catholic Teacher magazine.


The $1,000 award was presented at the Innovations in Catholic Education (ICE) Awards Banquet in San Diego, CA, on March 30, 2016. The banquet took place during the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) annual convention.


New this year, the grand prize honor was awarded to four of the 12 schools nationwide who had been previously selected as ICE Award winners for 2016.


Presented by Today’s Catholic Teacher, the ICE award honors 12 Catholic schools nationwide that have implemented exemplary and innovative programs. In addition to Dowling Catholic, Holy Family School in Des Moines was also honored amongst the 12 schools for its work in the area of community involvement.
