Thousands of people were drawn to the diocese's Independence Celebration Walk & Picnic on Sunday, July 1 in celebration of our freedom and to talk about threats to our religious liberty. People walked from St. Ambrose Cathedral in downtown Des Moines to the Capitol's east lawn for a picnic.
