Director of Faith Formation

St. Luke's Parish - Ankeny, Iowa

Summary

St. Luke's Parish in Ankeny, Iowa, seeks a Director of Faith Formation who is committed to formation of the Catholic Faith for this new and rapidly growing parish. This is a full-time position for a practicing Catholic and would include direction for Religious Education grades Kindergarten - 10,  sacramental preparation of parish and school children for Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation, coordinating Children's Liturgy of the Word and assistance with Adult Faith Formation. This position will be an opportunity to grow in faith, with a many young families, active catechists and volunteers and a beginning youth ministry program. Applicant should have a Bachelor's Degree or experience pertaining to this position and basic Diocesan Catechetical Certification.

MAINTENANCE CUSTODIAN (Part-time)

All Saints Catholic Church - Des Moines, Iowa

Summary

All Saints is currently accepting applications for a part-time Maintenance Custodian reporting directly to the Pastor.  This position will average not more than 30 hours per week.  Hours scheduled to work will vary weekly (Sunday through Saturday), as needed.  Main duties include, but are not limited to, perform daily rounds and assure that the parish facilities, grounds, and mechanical equipment are maintained in good condition and in a safe manner (including snow shoveling of Church walkways and Rectory, mowing and raking at Rectory, as well as shrub and weed control); perform some maintenance repairs as needed; prepare before and after parish events as needed; assist in ordering supplies or in coordinating of contract work as needed; provide input to the annual budget as it pertains to maintenance expenses; help with housekeeping and deep cleaning as needed; and ensure safety and security system compliance.  Skills and/or abilities desired, but not required, include able to lift or move heavy objects, work in inclement weather conditions, basic electrical and plumbing knowledge, and able to operate basic tools and equipment needed to perform the job.  Must be able to take initiative, communicate effectively, and work independently.  Related experience is desirable.

Qualifications:

Practicing Catholic, degree or experience in Pastoral Care, or equivalent education in a related field and experience preferred.
