Director of Faith Formation

St. Michael's Catholic Church - Harlan, IA


St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa is seeking a Director of Faith Formation for grades K-12. St. Michael’s is a parish of approximately 600 families with over 160 students in the Faith Formation program. The Director of Faith Formation should have strong communication and organizational skills as well as a commitment to the importance of good catechesis in developing the faith of our youth. Job responsibilities include: management of faith formation weekly programming as well as special liturgical events; coordinating all Sacraments and ensuring that diocesan requirements are met; recruiting catechists and making sure they meet safe environment standards.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Applicants must be a practicing Catholic and live a life that is compatible with all Church teachings. A degree in education or theology or related fields is preferred or religious education experience. Applicants should also be familiar with social media and have strong computer skills and be willing to collaborate with pastor and parish staff.

Church Custodian

St. Theresa Church - Des Moines, IA


St. Theresa Parish in Des Moines has an immediate opening for a full time (30 hours per week) Church Custodian. The position will be somewhat flexible, but the ideal candidate will be able to work early morning hours. The custodian assures that the church is maintained in a clean, orderly and welcoming manner. The custodian assists with setup and takedown of chairs, tables and other equipment for parish and school events.  This individual also assures that the parish grounds are welcoming, safe and in good order.  Performs minor maintenance.
