Msgr. Beeson is himself retired. Ordained in 1960 by Bishop Edward Daly, he earned a Canon law degree and has assisted the diocese in the Tribunal, as Vocations director and in various administrative roles including Vicar General, Consultor, Vice Chancellor and secretary to the bishop.

He has also offered a great deal of service to parishes, having served St. Augustin, St. Peter, St. Anthony, St. Ambrose in Des Moines plus St. Patrick near Irish Settlement, St. Patrick in Neola, St. Peter in Defiance, St. Mary and St. Boniface in Shelby County, Ss. Peter and Paul in Atlantic and St. Patrick in Massena.

In addition, he served in education, having been coordinator of St. Albert School in Council Bluffs for three years in the early 1970s.

He was honored with the title monsignor in 1989.

Msgr. Beeson retired in 2004, and since then has been active in assisting retired priests of the diocese.
