21st Century Faith Formation: This Is Not Your Parent’s ‘CCD’ Class! with Joe Paprocki from Loyola Press

All Saints Parish, 216 All Saints Drive, Stuart, 50250

Until recent times, catechists “looked like” schoolteachers, holding a textbook in front of a group of students in a classroom.  This academic model is proving to be less effective in today’s world, especially in light of the impact of technology on our everyday lives, the alarming increase in church disaffiliation, the proliferation of “out-of-sequence” children, and the emphasis on forming missionary disciples and not just “teaching doctrine.”  Join Dr. Joe Paprocki, National Consultant for Faith Formation (Loyola Press) for an engaging, informative, and challenging conversation about the changing nature of catechesis and the role of catechists as we proclaim Christ to the 21st century world.

Joe Paprocki, D.Min., is National Consultant for Faith Formation at Loyola Press, where, in addition to his traveling/speaking responsibilities, he works on the development team for faith formation curriculum resources including Finding God: Our Response to God’s Gifts. Joe has more than 40 years of experience in ministry and has presented keynotes, presentations, and workshops in more than 150 dioceses in North America.  Joe is a frequent presenter at national conferences including the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, the Mid-Atlantic Congress, and the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership.
