i.d. Des Moines Chapter

If I preach the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for necessity has been laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel.

~1 Corinthians 9:16~

What is i.d.?

i.d. exists to form young adults into intentional disciples of Jesus Christ. In response to the call for a "New Evangelization," we are seeking to establish communities of missionary disciples and to provide opportunities for young adults (approximately ages 18-39) to encounter Jesus Christ, hear His call, and follow Him.

Up, In, and Out - Discipleship Communities

Growth in discipleship is most effective and life-giving in the context of community living. id's particular style of community life includes weekly or bi-weekly meetings that rotate between "up, in, and out" nights.  These nights focus on growing “up” towards the Father (think adoration or Bible study), “in” towards each other as a discipleship community, or “out” to the world as missionaries (attending a Disciples’ Night, volunteering, going to parish events, etc).

Social distancing and safety is crucial, and can complicate these events. We have found it to be an opportunity for creativity in service and fellowship.
