The following are social services available to the community as we help each other during the coronavirus health crisis.

Catholic Charities

Family-centered services remain open, though some staff are working remotely. Food is available at the outreach center and the shelters in Des Moines and Council Bluffs remain open. Counseling is available by appointment. Donations can be made through the Catholic Charities website. We have limited volunteer opportunities. If interested, contact Holly.

St. Vincent de Paul

Food pantries at St. Vincent de Paul in Des Moines remain open by appointment only. Pickup times are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Make appointments by calling 515-282-8327 ext. 14 for the site at 1426 6th Ave.,  or 515-282-8328 ext. 30 for the site at 520 SW Army Post Road. Donations can be made here.

Free Meals for Students

Des Moines Public School After March 26^th, Des Moines Public Schools Food and Nutrition will start distributing “grab and go” meals to families. Grab-and-go meals will be available from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM ALL weekdays at ALL Des Moines Public Schools middle school locations from March 26^th until we resume classes.

St. Anthony Catholic School Starting April 6, grab and go meals available for students age 1-18 in the community, includes lunch & breakfast for the next morning. 16 Columbus Ave., 11 a.m. - noon. Students don't need to be present, remain in your vehicle, follow social distancing  guidelines.
