Des Moines diocese Catholic high schools are scoring higher than state averages in all areas of the ACT exam with a composite score of 24.4 for the diocesan high schools versus 22.3 for high schools in the state of Iowa in 2010.   • Being recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education is considered the highest honor an American school can achieve.  Since 2006, only about 3.9% of schools nationwide have been recognized with this honor.  Since 2001, four diocesan schools have been selected as National Blue Ribbon Schools.
