Soup Supper

NORWALK – St. John the Apostle youth group will be serving a soup supper from 6-8 p.m. in the parish social hall. Cost is a free-will donation. Proceeds will go to this year's community service project of helping to pay off negative lunch balances in the Norwalk school district.
Catholic Daughters of the Americas
DES MOINES -- Court Ave Maria No. 302 will meet at 9 a.m. at the Basilica of St. John.  Mass will be followed by the program and business meeting.  Speaker will be Mike Peters, executive director of KWKY Catholic radio.

Christmas Potpourri

DES MOINES -- The Altar & Rosary Society of the Basilica of St. John will hold its Annual Christmas Potpourri Sat. from 3 - 6 p.m. & Sun. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be in the Father Daniel Mulvihill Hall below the church located at 1915 University Ave.  Admission is free.  Quilt raffle, great holiday gifts and delicious baked goods. Soup and sandwiches available after 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday and cinnamon rolls and lunch available on Sunday.  Questions?  Call Evie Nemec at 515-279-9686. A "Day of Faith" for the Year of Faith

Cookie Walk & Breakfast With Santa
DES MOINES -- The annual St. Theresa Parish Altar & Rosary Society Church Ladies Bazaar will be from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  Admission is free for shopping with approximately 20 vendors, a "Cookie Walk," and lunch will be available.   "Breakfast with Santa" for children ages 2-7 years available. Children will have small breakfast, a few activities to participate in, along with some time and a photo with Santa. The seating times are 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Seating is limited. Fee is $2. Christmas Cookie Walk, Sweets Shoppe & Craft Fair
INDIANOLA – The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is sponsoring this event from 8-11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Pastoral Center, Corner of Hwys. 92 & R-63, West of Indianola.  Cookies can be purchased for $5.50 a pound.

Natural Family Planning Classes

URBANDALE -- The next three-part series of classes on the sympto-thermal method of natural family planning is 6-8:30 p.m. at St. Pius X Church. Cost is $140 for everything. Beginning Experience

            DES MOINES – Find help, support and guidance in coping and adjusting to the loss of a spouse from death, divorce or separation.  Open house sessions will be at St. Augustin’s hall 42nd and Grand, Des Moines from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Meet on Friday evenings Dec. 7, Dec. 14 and Jan 4. Year of Faith reflection

            STUART – Msgr. Larry Beeson, who served at the Second Vatican Council, and Matt Halbach, of the St. Joseph Educational Center, will present an all-day workshop in celebration of the Year of Faith. Msgr. Beeson will recall the climate in Rome while Halbach will talk about the outcome of the council.
