PCL Connect Summer Enrichment Day

Join our lifelong formation in faith community on August 18 as we gather around the theme "Take Nothing for the Journey (Luke 9:3)" with Renowned National Speaker, Mike Patin.  Jesus knew ministry was demanding.  He gave his disciples instructions about what to carry.  Our time together will be a time to identify burdens draining our passion and intentionally list some practices, priorities, and rhythms that sustain a healthy, life-giving ministry.  This session is for all who work in any formational ministry in lifelong formation in faith.  

Our guest facilitator for the day is Mike Patin.  Mike is a storyteller and a stirrer.  Through humor and stories, Mike helps us pause and reflect--to look at our lives through the eyes of faith in Jesus.  He leads others to remember that faith is very much connected to everyday life.  He encourages us to recommit to a living, practical, vibrant faith in God through daily choices, practices and attitudes.  He has presented at NCEA, LA Religious Education Conference Adult and Youth days, NCYC, National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry Adult Conference, Notre Dame Vision among others.  

Bishop William Joensen will provide his annual address, present service awards to colleagues, and be with us through lunch.  

A hallmark of our time together is great food catered by Los Altos.  The day kicks off with a continental breakfast social hour and ends with door prizes.

  • 9:00 am – Social gathering with light breakfast items provided by the Diocese
  • 9:30 am – Opening prayer service
  • 9:45 am - Bishop William Joensen address followed by a presentation of service awards
  • 10:30 am –Mike Patin - Session 1 - The Long and Winding Road
  • 12:00 pm –Diocesan Update and review of Confirmation Materials
  • 12:30 pm –Lunch catered by Los Altos
  • 1:15 pm -Mike Patin - Session 2 - Packing the Essentials
  • 2:45 pm - Door Prizes and Closing Prayer
  • 3:00 pm - Summer Enrichment Session Ends
