Dr, Michael Carotta is a recognized religious educator, author, consultant whose most recent work is Whole Hearted, a free mental health awareness workbook FOR ALL. It focuses on the impact life’s painful experiences have on mental health and integrates spirituality and religious practices with behavioral health. Mike also speaks nationally on developing mental health aware parishes.
He spent 4 years working with the spirituality of at-risk youth at Fr Flanagan’s Boystown, was the first lay director of the Religious Education Department at the National Catholic Education Association, a member of the US Bishops Committee on the General Directory For Catechesis, and for five years directed the Teaching For Spiritual Growth Summer Institute at Boston College with Dr Robert Coles of Harvard.
Mike is also a visiting theology instructor at several Jesuit universities and recipient of The Emmaus Award for Excellence in Catechesis. His latest books include Unexpected Occasions of Grace and Teaching For Discipleship (OSV).
