Finding the Voice of Lent

October 17, 2026 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, West Des Moines, IA

Finding the Voice of Lent, October 17, 2026 A workshop that welcomes parish musicians to explore Lenten liturgy, repertoire, chant and antiphons for the season’s prayerful liturgy. Lent leads us toward the heart of the Catholic Church’s year—the Paschal Mystery and the Holy Triduum—and our music helps guide the community on that journey. Join music directors, cantors, accompanists, singers, and instrumentalists as we explore the Church’s musical traditions for this season. Together we’ll look at the prayer, simplicity, and character of the Lenten liturgy, including chant, antiphons, and seasonal repertoire. You’ll leave with practical ideas, deeper understanding, and music you can bring back to your parish.
