Guadalupe Statue Visits St. Ambrose Cathedral

The Pilgrim Mother, a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe, is visiting the Diocese of Des Moines from July 15 to September 11. The statue is making a trip to Dioceses around the United States, preparing for the 500th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady to Saint Juan Diego in 1531 in Mexico. At specific times that will be announced later, a 45-60 minute "experience" will accompany people's visit to the statue that includes a digital retelling of the story of the apparitions, a mystery of the rosary, a song, opportunity for people to write petitions in white ribbons, and time for prayer and reflection. 

The statue will visit six parishes at select dates:
