This past week, it seemed things were changing day by day if not hour by hour in an effort to protect people from the spreading coronavirus. The Catholic Mirror went to the printer on Monday, March 16.  On Tuesday, March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds called for a cap on gatherings of no more than 10 people. Please follow the directives in Bishop William Joensen's March 17 pastoral letter to the people of our diocese.

Public celebration of the Holy Mass in our diocese remains cancelled until further notice. Televised or electronic communication of Mass celebrated without a congregation (though there can be one or minimally necessary number of ministers so that the total number present is no more than a 10 people) is possible.
