"In him, we never see frustration but only trust," said the pope in his apostolic letter Patris Corde. St. Joseph is a spiritual father for all of us. Through him, we can grow closer to God.

At the start of the Year of St. Joseph, several parishes in the Diocese of Des Moines offered an opportunity for parishioners to follow a 33-day series of prayers in preparation for consecrating their lives to St. Joseph. Now, a group of faithful in conjunction with Iowa Catholic Radio are teaming up to encourage everyone to participate.

Tune in to the station daily at 3:20 p.m. to pray together the daily prayers. Then come to a Mass celebrated by Bishop William Joensen at 4 p.m. on Aug. 15 at St. Patrick Church at Irish Settlement, where attendees will consecrate their lives to St. Joseph. We will also celebrate the 110th anniversary of the establishment of the Diocese of Des Moines.
