Megan Lone has been appointed the new assistant administrator at Sacred Heart Catholic School in West Des Moines beginning July 1.

A devoted advocate for Catholic education and a distinguished alumna of both Sacred Heart and Dowling Catholic High School, Lone brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to her new role.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Middle-Level Education from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master of Arts in Teaching with an Endorsement in Literacy Education from Morningside University, and is on track to complete her graduate certificate in School Administration from Viterbo University this spring.

“Megan's extensive educational background, dedication to the Catholic faith, and demonstrated leadership make her an invaluable addition to the Sacred Heart team," said Donna Bishop, superintendent of Schools. “Her unwavering commitment to excellence aligns seamlessly with our values, and we look forward to the positive impact she is poised to make in her new role as assistant administrator."

With 13 years of service in Catholic education, Lone has a versatile background, having served as a classroom teacher, lead teacher, and director of before-and-after-care. In her most recent position as lead teacher and middle school teacher at St. Augustin Catholic School in Des Moines, she implemented a successful school-wide PBIS program, actively participated in student assessments, contributed to staff recruitment for wrap-around care, and tailored learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of students.

“Fostering an environment of collaboration among all stakeholders is essential to student growth and achievement,” remarked Lone. “I look forward to sharing my skills, experience, and passion for Catholic education with the faculty, staff, students, and families of the Sacred Heart community.”

“The Sacred Heart community is very excited to welcome Megan to our family,” said Scott Ehlinger, school administrator. “We are confident Megan will continue to grow the rich tradition of success at Sacred Heart.”
