More than 150 people attended the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Anthony #330 Education Contest Awards Dinner on March 2 in the cafeteria of St. Albert Catholic School in Council Bluffs.

The education contest is an annual event of the Catholic Daughters national organization. This year’s theme was “The Least of These: Lifting Others Up.”  St. Albert students in grades 4-12 were eligible to compete.  Students may enter one or more of the five areas of art, poetry, computer art, essay, and photography.

The first-place winners in each area advance to compete at the state level. Those first place state winners then advance to the Catholic Daughters' national level in July.

Winners include:

  • Sydney Tallman - Art Division II - 1st place
  • Asher High Horse - Art Division I - 1st place
  • Tinley Hanagan - Essay Division II - 1st place
