Patty Origer has recruited and trained eight parish advocates to support persons with disabilities and their families in parishes.

She helped two parishes that wanted to hold Night to Shine events that make people with disabilities feel included and loved. A Night to Shine event is a prom for people with special needs.

A Mental Health Ministry was launched with several events such as a St. Dymphna retreat, a suicide remembrance Mass, and a Blue Christmas prayer service.

In addition, a retreat hosted by Emmaus House, supported Catholic school counselors and diocesan-vetted counselors.

Origer ensures that everyone feels important in the life of our parishes. For more information on how you can support the Annual Diocesan Appeal, go to dmdiocese.org/ada
