Message from Superintendent Donna Bishop

Donna BishopThank you for your interest in the Diocese of Des Moines Catholic Schools. Choosing a school is an important decision, and it is an honor to have you consider us to educate your child. I firmly believe an investment in our schools is an investment in your child’s future.

The Diocese of Des Moines offers 16 Catholic schools across three regions — the Des Moines Metro, rural communities (Perry, Creston and Harlan) and Council Bluffs. These three regions collaborate to ensure best practices in education, the long-term viability of our schools, and academic excellence for all students. Our educational philosophy embodies a holistic approach designed to strengthen a student’s body, mind and spirit. At our schools, your child will grow in their faith, discover servant leadership, experience top-tier academics and build lifelong friendships — all in a safe and nurturing environment.

All of our schools provide an educational setting where faith is incorporated into the curriculum and daily routine to provide a foundation for success. In addition to faith-based learning, our schools use a diocesan curriculum that meets or exceeds the mandates set by the state for our schools. We also offer STEM education, fine arts, language immersion and diverse learner support. We challenge all students to aim higher academically, spiritually and personally. As a result, our students consistently demonstrate higher scores on Iowa Assessments when compared to schools across the state.

Although each of our schools is unique in its cultures and charisms, all of our schools offer faith, excellence, community and the best value in education. And if you are looking for a school where your child will be both nurtured and challenged, look no further. Our committed educators deliver a Christ-centered education while promoting high academic standards. Each student receives personalized attention in a warm, supportive community.

I invite (and encourage) you to discover the difference of Catholic education. Please ask questions; we would love to tell you about our programs. Or feel free to schedule an admissions visit. We can’t wait to meet your family!

In Christ,

Donna Bishop, Ed.S.
