Employment Benefits

The following benefits are available to all active employees who are regularly scheduled to work 28 or more hours per week.  Benefits are also available to all active teachers and teachers' aides hired prior to June 1, 2002 who are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week.

Health Insurance

We offer individual and family PPO and HMO plans to meet the needs of our employees.  A portion of the individual premium is employer subsidized. A portion of the dependent premium costs for an employee’s spouse and dependent children is also subsidized. As with all of our benefit plans, coverage starts on the first day of the month following the employee's date of employment.

Dental Coverage

Dental coverage is offered for individual and family plans.  Employees have two coverage plans to choose from.

Vision Insurance

There is a Vision Plan offered which includes a $10 copayment once per year, and allowances on frames, lenses, and contact lenses.

Life and Long Term Disability

You never know what might happen and if the unexpected does happen, the diocese offers life* and long term disability plans to ensure that your family is taken care of in any event. We pay the full cost of the premium. (*Group life insurance is offered at participating locations.)

Retirement Plans

Retirement and saving for the future is very important. The diocese knows this and offers a 403(b) plan with employer match for our parish and school employees.  Active employees who are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours a week are eligible to participate.

Flexible Spending Account

We offer tax-free spending accounts for non-reimbursed medical, dental and vision expenses or dependent care expenses.  Premium payments for medical, dental and vision coverage can also be deducted on a pre-tax basis.

Voluntary Benefits

Employees may purchase supplemental life insurance, short term disability, cancer insurance, and legal insurance at discounted group rates.    Employees pay all premiums associated with these voluntary benefits.

Employee Assistance Program

We pay the full cost of an Employee Assistance Program for our employees, available 24/7.  Participation in this program may vary by location.

If you need assistance with benefits and diocesan staff are unavailable, please contact Robin Paul at Assured Partners for general benefits questions.
